Welcome to the website of the Nicosia International Church – a Christian community that gathers on Sunday mornings, 11:15, at St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral. If you’re looking for a church in Nicosia, we’d love you to pay us a visit.
Though we love to meet together to worship and study God’s word, we believe that God’s kingdom is found in homes, workplaces, schools and neighborhoods. It spreads person to person, neighborhood to neighborhood, nation to nation. NIC gathers to scatter … to live out our faith wherever God takes us. Our mission is to launch disciple-making movements among every people group on earth (Matthew 28:19-20).
Should you choose to join us on Sunday morning (consider yourself invited!), there are three things you’ll notice:
First, we’re a multicultural church made up of people from over 20 nations. Some have come to Cyprus seeking a new life, some to study, and some to work. Some were born and raised here. Out of this mix, God has created a unique church that reflects the diversity of our city. NIC welcomes and serves everyone regardless of where they are in their spiritual journey (Matthew 9:12-13).
Second, we believe that the Good News about Jesus produces real change (Romans 1:16). We take teaching and preaching God’s word seriously.
Thirdly, all we do is with the goal of multiplying followers of Jesus (Matthew 13:23). Jesus’ final instruction to his disciples was that they were to make more disciples – apprentices who are learning how to walk in the way of Jesus. We’re a growing grass-roots movement of people learning how to follow Jesus in the 21st Century.
The doctrinal statement of the Nicosia International Church is the Apostles’ Creed, an ancient creed confessed by followers of Jesus for nearly 2,000 years.
I believe in God the Father, Creator of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.
He was born of the virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilot,
Was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead
And on the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven
Where he sits at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
One holy, universal Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body,
And life everlasting.
